ISOM participates in the Advanced Materials Complementary Plan, a programme aimed to consolidate the R&D&I activity in the area of Advanced Materials. In particular, ISOM has received funding from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities as well as the Community of Madrid through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, for the project "Materiales Disruptivos Bidimensionales (2D)" (MAD2D-CM-UPM1). This project, coordinated by Nazario Martín (UCM) and led at ISOM-UPM by Fernando Calle and Jorge Pedrós, explores the unique properties of graphene and other 2D materials for their application in optoelectronics, biosensing & theranostics, and energy storage.
